Betty A Bailey, 87, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 6:10 p.m., Thursday, September 27th, 2018 while in the company of family members, at Cedars House.
Betty was born in Udall, Kansas on September 26, 1931, a daughter of Lelia (Wallace) and Frank McLarin .
Betty attended Lincoln Elementary School, Park School and McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas.
She was a member of First Christian Church in McPherson and was a member of Disciples Women ‘s Fellowship, Blessings Boutique Workshop and Mission Fundraiser.
Through the years Betty was a homemaker and worked for JD’s Kwik Burger, McPherson, Kansas.
Betty was a member of Eastern Star
Betty enjoyed taking care of children, making cookies for friends, gardening, flowers, crafts, knitting, watching birds, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Betty Ann Bailey was united in marriage to Clifford Jerome Bailey, Sr. on January 20, 1951 at the First Chrisitan Church McPherson, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Canton, Kansas. This union was blessed with the birth of three children, two sons and a daughter, Clifford Jr., Michael and Beth. Clifford died July 23, 2007.
She is survived by her children Clifford Bailey, Jr. and his wife Janice, of St. Louis, Missouri; Michael Bailey, of Hesston, Kansas and Beth Bailey and her husband Kenny, of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren – Clifford Bailey III, Shane Chachaffie, Heather Crispen, Charles “Chuck” Basiley(LouAnn) and Jennifer Groeschen and 8 -great-grandchildren – Jordan, Celeste, Braxton, Dachia, Raven, Chrissy, Alyssa and Evan
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Clifford Bailey, Sr. and her brothers Harry McLarin and Frank McLarin..
Visitation will be Monday, October 1, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Glidden – Ediger Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at the Glidden – Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 with Pastor Lynn Scott officiating.
Final resting place will be at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas.
