During this time, Buck Shea was a close friend. Marilyn met Bill when she and a friend were walking down Santa Fe. This meeting changed both of their lives. A year later they were married. In the early years, Bill worked construction. But in 1970 he and his brother Bob started Holgerson and Company. This business built a variety of buildings including schools and hospitals. Tony’s Pizza Plant was a collaboration that lasted for 10 years. The pinnacle project was the Salina Presbyterian Manor.
His next venture was Triad Manufacturing. Their office seating products filled the Senate and House for the Kansas State Capital building. Later, self-employed, he and Marilyn managed commercial rental property. He enjoyed car racing, golf, tennis, fishing, and hunting. He restored a 1934 Ford Cabriolet and won his division in three car shows.
He was a modest, humble, intelligent, and caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
