Billy Ray Booe, passed away on 7 January 2023 at Smokey Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center in Salina, KS. at the age of 92. He was born on 7 August 1930 in Gravitte, Arkansas, to Ennis and Marcena (Henry) Booe. He was the first of four children which includes brothers Kurt, Richard and his sister Edith.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1947 and retired from the U.S. Air Force, having served in support of the wars in Korea and Vietnam in 1967 when he moved his family to Salina, KS.
Billy began his secondary career at Westinghouse in Salina. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Marymount University of Salina in 1983.
He was well known for his kindness and gentle nature and was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
He was preceded in death by both parents and all three siblings.
Billy leaves behind his beloved companion Shirley Burt, his four sons, Michael, Stephen, Richard, and Mark as well as nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. There are numerous nieces and nephews located throughout Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, Salina. Inurnment of the cremains will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park with Military Honors provided by the Salina Veterans of Foreign Wars.
