Carol Lee Bradford, 78, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 6:20 p.m., Tuesday, November 17th, 2020 while in the company of family, at Pleasant View Home, Inman, Kansas.
Carol was born in Cedar Vale, Kansas on August 4, 1942, a daughter of Minerva E. (Wood) and Lester E. Bever.
Carol attended Cedar Vale Elementary School, Cedar Vale, Kansas and McKinley Elementary School in Abilene, Kansas, McPherson Junior High School and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas in 1960. She then attended and graduated from Brown Mackie Business College, Salina, Kansas.
She was a member of First Baptist Church McPherson, where she was Baptized on June 19, 1955 by Reverend Ray Pasley, Jr.
Carol Lee Bever was united in marriage to Darold Eugene Bradford on April 22, 1961 at McPherson, Kansas where they established their first home together. This union was blessed with the birth of a daughter and a son, Debra and Kevin.
Carol was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She also worked as a Key Punch Operator for Farmers Alliance Insurance Company, was an Accounting Supervisor and Assistant Treasurer for Alliance Life Insurance Company and retired after 17 1/2 years of service to the McPherson County Attorney’s Office, all of McPherson.
Carol was a member of the Happy Homemakers F.C.E. She enjoyed her family, baking and cooking for her family, counted cross stitch, and working word puzzles. She also liked watching game shows and collecting Precious Moments figurines.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 59 years, Darold E. Bradford, of McPherson, Kansas; her children, Debra D Johnson and husband Douglas, of McPherson, Kansas and Kevin S. Bradford and wife Kim, of Wichita, Kansas; her brother, Lloyd Bever and wife Jean, of Colleyville, Texas; her six grandchildren, Lauren A. Bradford, Nathan D. Johnson, Alaina D. Polston and husband Mason, Janell D. Johnson, Ashley L. Dreasher and Megan N. Dreasher; other relatives and a host of friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Glidden – Ediger Funeral Home, McPherson. The family will not be present
Private family graveside service will be held at McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas
