Charles “Charlie” H. Blochlinger

Charles “Charlie” H. Blochlinger, 84 years of age, of Concordia passed away Friday, December 20, 2024, peacefully at his home in Concordia.  He was born on August 25, 1940, in Concordia, Kansas to Henry and Stella (Richard) Blochlinger. 

He married Mary Beth Morrill on June 11, 1962, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Concordia, Kansas. To this union two children were born, Kevin and Kathy.

He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, K of C, and Moose Lodge.

Charlie grew up in Miltonvale Kansas on a family farm. Charlie worked for Montgomery Ward in the tire shop, when it closed down, he then worked for John Deere for many years, he retired from the City Park Department.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and working with his dogs. Most of all he loved spending time with his beloved family and friends.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Mary Beth of the home; son, Kevin (Carla) Blochlinger of Concordia, KS; daughter, Kathy (Lon) Ostrom of Manhattan, KS; 17 grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Paul Leo Blochlinger and grandson Brade Robert Charles Lindsay.

A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 30, 2024, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Kieffer officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2024, with a Rosary Service at 3:00 p.m. all at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas, Led by Fr. Joseph Kieffer.
