Charles Maddox, 84, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Charles was born in Benton County, Arkansas to Harold and Edna Maddox.
He graduated from North High School in Wichita, KS in 1956 where he met Jan, his wife of 61 years. Charlie worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 32 years and worked his way up from lineman to engineering manager. He was active in community organizations including Trinity United Methodist Church and Ambucs.
He had a passion for golf and during retirement you could find him every morning at the Municipal golf course playing a round with his friends. Family was a central part of Charlie’s life. He loved his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
He is survived by a son, Randy (Kathryn); son-in-law, Randy Rush; grandchildren, Christina (Wes) Harrison, Kristen (Kyle) Schenk, Wendy (Adam) Fisher, Kale (Sharin) Shank, Will (Layna) Maddox, Emily Maddox; 15 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Clifford Allen and Jack Maddox.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan Maddox; daughter, Tami Rush; parents, Harold and Edna Maddox; and brother, Harold Maddox, Jr.
Visitation is Sunday, January 29, 1 – 3 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 30, 10 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Salina.
