Charles R. Tingler, 80 of Salina, passed away Friday, July 16. 2021. He was born February 1, 1941, in Sutton West Virginia.
Following his enlistment in the Army, Charles worked for the Geary County Sheriff Dept in Junction City. In 1991, Charles moved to Salina and was hired at Schwan’s Pizza Plant, where he worked in the shipping department for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles T., and Nellie A. Tingler, his beloved wife, Sylvia M. (Johnson) Tingler, his sisters, Annabelle, Onalee and June, and a brother, Roy Tingler.
Survivors include his children, Nellie Tingler and her significant other, Brandon Nash, of Salina, a son, Charles Tingler, Jr., of Lawrence, a sister, Nelva J. Paul and a sister-in-law, Christy Price of Salina,
7 grandchildren, Shianne, Skyler, Sasha, Malik, Arielle, Stefan and DaeLynn, and 1 great grandchild, Emma.
Per Charles’ request there will be no services. Burial will take place at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery at Manhattan.
