Charles William Pohlman, 85, of Salina, KS, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, January 22nd.
Charles was born in Vining, Kansas on August 10, 1935, a son of the late Opal (Heitsman) and Ferdinand Pohlman.
Charles retired from Kansas Power and Light as a Line Foreman at KPL after 32 years of service. After retirement, Joleen and Charles moved to Missouri where he made a dream come true by working at Silver Dollar City making hundreds of funnel cakes every day and finally ended up at the taffy shop.
Charles enjoyed woodworking, fishing, craft fairs, loved country music and enjoyed watching western movies.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Abilene.
Charles and Joleen (Balthazor) Pohlman were married nearly 65 Years, and to this union they raised four children.
Charles is survived by his wife, Joleen, of Salina; Sons, Terry (Jaquania) of Collinsville, Oklahoma; Kevin (Jeanna) of Solomon; daughters, Pamela (James) Perales of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Rita (Bob) Glover of Haysville.
Charles is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild and his brother Gary (Judy) of Beloit.
Preceding him in death is one grandson and two great granddaughters.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 26th at 1 pm at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home & Crematory, followed by the funeral service at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Friends of the Salina Animal Shelter, sent in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio St., Salina, Kansas 67401.
