Dallas L. White passed away October 10, 2023, at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas at age 86. He was born on October 29, 1936, in Salina, Kansas to John and Rosa (Muchow) White. He graduated from Culver High School with the Class of 1955. He started his working career with John Deere on May 16, 1955. His job lasted 28.5 years. Dallas learned a lot of his mechanic knowledge from his dad, John. As a kid he was always fixing or building something. He then opened J.D. Repair and sold it in 1996. He and Joan also sold Cub Cadet mowers at J.D. Repair. Dallas and Betty Joan Whisler met at the Jolly Mixers dance and married in Las Vegas August 17, 1991.
Dallas was preceded in death by parents, John and Rosa, and brothers Clyde and Dean. He is survived by his wife Joan; son Mike and his wife Terri; Stepdaughter Cris; Stepson Scott; Granddaughter Jamie; and two great grandkids Brayden and Trinady and a great-great- granddaughter Liberty. With his marriage to Joan, he was blessed with three stepchildren Brad, Dan, and Shelly, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. They called him Grandpa Dallas. He was also survived by his brother Malcolm.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 20, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Ryan Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to the Cardiac Nursing Department at Wesley Medical Center.
