David Louis Nowak, 71, of Salina, Kan., passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023. He was born on February 29, 1952, in Hays, Kan., to Louis Vernon and Lillian (Sander) Nowak. He was joined in marriage to Pamela Woods on August 30, 1974.
Dave worked for Saline County Road and Bridge for 41 years, retiring as Director in 2015, and was an active member of the KS Society of Land Surveyors. He loved God, family, and country, and was a proud supporter of the military and police.
Survivors include his mother, Lillian, of Salina; daughters, Chrissy, of Salina, and Kelle (Rick), of Casper, Wyo.; grandchildren, Jace, Torah, and Tyler Hull; siblings, Thomas Nowak (Mary), Kay Schmitt (Leonard), Vernetta Hammersmith, John Nowak, and Marilyn Labinski; in-laws, Rod Woods (Sue) and Terri Melby (Steve); and 16 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon, and wife of 34 years, Pam.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 3, at Village Bible Church, Salina, with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gorham, Kan.
