Deborah Ann Eckart, passed away on October 7, 2021, in Salina. Debby was born August 17, 1944, in Newport, Rhode Island.
Debby graduated from Hutchinson High School, then went on to receive her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Art at Fort Hays State University.
She had various jobs to support herself, but her passion was art of all kinds. She loved poetry and wrote two books with her art and poetry. She was able to fulfill her lifetime dream in opening a gallery in Brookville call the “Ark Gallery.”
Throughout her life she loved people, animals, music, and nature walks.
She is preceded in death by a brother, James Eckart, and her parents, DeMerle E. Eckart, Sr, and Marjorie (Maddy) Eckart.
She is survived by a sister, Jermaine McGregor, a brother, DeMerle E. (Gail), Jr., nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00am, Monday, October 18, 2021, at the Franklin Cemetery on N. 30th Rd., Tescott.
In lieu of flowers family is suggesting memorials be made to the Saline County Animal Shelter in care of Roselawn Mortuary, PO Box 2322, Salina, 67402.
