Delbert Wayne Schmeiser, 78, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 12:20 p.m., Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 while in the company of family members, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, Kansas.
Delbert was born in Limon, Colorado on August 7, 1939, a son of Olive Opal (Sides) Bretz and Walter Marlin Schmeiser.
Delbert attended Yoder grade school and graduated from Yoder-Miami High School in Yoder, Colorado. He then attended a Colorado Tech Trade School in , Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Delbert worked as a surveyor for the state of Colorado, was a farmer and aerial photographer.
Delbert enjoyed spending time with his family, loved flying, socializing , being outdoors and was especially fond of his dog Oscar.
Delbert was united in married to Rita Mitchell and this union was blessed with the birth of a daughter Gail. Delbert was united in married Della Hill Stupka and this union was blessed with the birth of a daughter Julie.
He is survived by his daughters Julie Wenthe and her husband Dale, of McPherson, Kansas and Gail Bell, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his brother Walter Schmeiser, of Springfield, Missouri; his grandchildren Kayla Phillips and her husband Wade, and Devan Wenthe and his wife Jodi.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Dylan Wenthe.
Graveside service will be held at McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas, at 2:00 p.m on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 with Pastor Dwight Carter officiating.
