Donald Ray Atkins, 86, passed away on December 10, 2024 at his home in Salina, KS.
Donald was born on April 20, 1938 in Chillicothe, MO to parents Harold and Edna (Pence) Atkins.
Donald Atkins was called home to the house of the Lord the morning of December 10th 2024. Don was a person who always kept active, he enjoyed bowling, roller skating, bicycling, boating, skiing, swimming, camping and motorcycle riding.
Out of High School he joined the Navy for 3 years. After the Navy, Don joined his father building houses. Don married and started his family and in 1970 Don brought his family to Salina, Kansas, where he continued his craft. His last 12 years working before retirement was at the First Presbyterian Church, Don was their Maintenance person.
Retirement opened up his final and most successful hobby, geo caching. He hunted caches in 5 states and had made and hidden over 350 himself, just in Kansas. He has touched many peoples lives, some happy, some not so happy, but we Love him and will miss him.
Donald was preceded in death by Edna Atkins (Mother), Harold Atkins (Father), Harold Atkins (Brother).
Donald is survived by; Children Steve (Linda) Atkins, Teresa (Mark) Sabes, Sonna Middle; 7 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the Roselawn Memorial Heights Chapel; 1920 E. Crawford, Salina, KS 67401. Inurnment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Salina, KS.
