Donald Dale Vaupel, 91, of Salina, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021. He was born February 16, 1930 in Salina, KS.
Donald was a 3rd generation farmer, he also owned and operated a dairy. Donald was a very creative man and loved to tinker and invent things that he used to run his farm. Many of those things are still used today on the family farm.
Donald always made paper airplanes that he loved to fly with his great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Stella M. (Yockers) Vaupel; son in law, Steven D. Nelson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 71 years, Mary F. (Stone) Vaupel of the home; children, David (Bonnie) Vaupel of Salina, Debra (Mike) Reinbold of New Cambria;
Grandchildren, Darren Vaupel of Salina, Janette (Brandon) Parker of Olathe, Pamela (Derrick) Hill of Wichita, Ginger (Bryan) Tucker of Tampa, FL, Christina (Mike) Arpin of Kansas City; great grandchildren, Jeremy Vaupel of Manhattan, Adam Vaupel of Salina, Abby Vaupel of Salina, Steven Parker of Olathe, Shannon Parker of Olathe, Scottson Parker of Olathe, Estella Hill of Wichita, Isabella Hill of Wichita, and twins Victoria and James Arpin of Kansas City. He is also survived by his brother William E. (Ellen) Vaupel and his nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, 9 to 11 AM, at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 East Crawford, Salina.
Funeral services will follow visitation at 11:00 AM.
