Doris Louise Christian, 92, died October 3, 2020. She was born Dec. 28, 1927 to Axel and Mabel (Gustafson) Swenson in Salina, Ks. Her early years were spent on a farm near Bavaria. The family later moved to the Solomon, KS. area where Doris attended the local schools, graduating in 1945 from Solomon High School. After graduation, she took secretarial positions with Kent Oil, Co and later, with Great Plains Insurance Company; where she would meet her future husband, C.L. “Chris” Christian. They were married on Valentine’s Day, 1947 and had 58 wonderful years together before Chris passed away on Nov. 12, 2005. Doris worked for the law firm of Norton, Wasserman, Jones & Kelly for many years, retiring in 2014.

She and Chris were very active in the Shrine Temple, where she was a member of Felicity Chapter, #371, O.E.S.; the Salina Elks Lodge, Salina Country Club and she spent many years as an election volunteer.

Doris is survived by her nephews, Greg (Diane) Swenson and Kevin (Jill) Swenson, all of New Cambria.
