Dwayne Walls, 75, passed away Friday, November 11, 2022, at his home. He was born February 20, 1947, in Wheeler, TX, the son of Eula Mae (Newberry) and Acie Elbert Walls.
Dwayne attended school in Duncan, OK, graduating in 1965, and Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK. He graduated in 1969, with a BS in Vocational Agriculture Education. He took a job as a Vocational Agriculture teacher in Miltonvale, KS, that same year. He left teaching two years later to become an Ag Lender at the Bennington State Bank, Bennington. He retired as Exec. VP in March of 2016 after 45 years in banking. Dwayne was a long-time member of the Bennington Lions Club, serving as Chairman of the Annual Bennington PRCA Rodeo for 46 years. Under his leadership, this event garnered numerous awards for excellence.
Dwayne was an avid fan and supporter of Oklahoma State University, establishing two endowed scholarships, one in the College of Agriculture and one in the university’s rodeo program. He loved rodeos and in recent years started buying bucking bulls.
Dwayne married his high school sweetheart, Sharon (Shari) Deevers, on August 11, 1967, in the Victory Baptist Church in Duncan, OK. They were married 55 years and have two children, Jeff and Brandi. Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Laura Norman. He is survived by his wife Shari of the home, Jeff (Nikki) Walls of Tuttle, OK, Brandi (Mark) Guethle of OKC, OK and sister, Daphna Tobey of Greenwood, IN. Grandchildren: Brooklynn (Brock)

Guethle; Morgan (Cole) McGaha; and Tanner Allison. Great-Grandchildren: Jayden Hernandez; BraeLynn McGaha; Kohen McGaha. Nieces and Nephews: Doug Bessire; Debbie Thomas; Teri (David) Dunbar; and Tracy (Mike) Maning.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 19th at Ryan Mortuary. The service will be livestreamed at https://youtu.be/NAYo-rI4X9I.
