Edwin A. Pick, age 91, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia after a long and wonderful life. He was born on Nov. 13, 1929 in Rice, KS to James A. & Lydia (Paillet) Pick.
He attended Dist. 28 rural school. He graduated from Concordia High School in 1947. He had many interests in life. He was interested in electronics and repaired radios while in high school for Culbertsons, Edwards & Martins. He studied Morse code and got his amateur radio license and his call letters were W0BBM. He took a test as a radio engineer and employed at several radio stations and then later was employed with Wendell Wilson at KNCK. He served in the U.S. Air Force in California, Arizona, Illinois & Alaska. In 1957, they moved to St. Louis and worked for UNIVAC. He was also interested computers and then solar & wind technology, but most importantly his love for scripture. He married Marian D. Swenson at Our Saviors Lutheran Church on June 12, 1949. They attended several churches across the country and were currently members of The Baptist Church, Concordia.
He is survived by his wife, Marian, Concordia; sons, Daniel Pick (Deanna), Port St. Lucie, FL & Michael Pick (Tracy), Hillsboro, MO; grandchildren, David & Karen Pick, Danae & Caleb Redick, Elisa & Patrick Marstall & Christina & Andy Wilder & great grandchildren, Serenity & Harmony Pick.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Wed, Nov. 25, 2020 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia with Pastor Jonathan Peppers officiating. Burial will follow at Nelson Center Cemetery, Huscher with Military honors conducted by American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588. Visitation with family will be an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to The Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
