Elvin Brotton passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018. He was born August 20, 1934, to Earl and Elva (Owings) Brotton in Salina, Kansas. He was a lifelong resident of Salina, graduating from Salina High School in 1952. He married Deloris “Irene” Belcher on April 4, 1954. He is survived by his son Leslie of Salina, son Kim and wife Wendy of Canton, and four granddaughters, Danielle Lee and husband Jeff of Salina, Morgan Brotton of Wichita, Jill Lee and husband Matt of Overland Park, and Jami North and husband Adam of Galva. He was preceded in death by his wife, mother, father, three brothers, two sisters, and granddaughter Jessica Brotton. Elvin built houses for Michaelsen Construction from 1952 to the late 1960s. Elvin farmed in Saline County for over 50 years beginning in 1960. He was a member and lifetime supporter of Saline Valley 4-H, member of the Salina Chamber of Commerce, and supported numerous charities in the community. He was also an active member of the Evangelical United Brethern Church, which later became Church of the Cross and served on the Board of Trustees. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 14, 2018 at Church of the Cross. Visitation will be from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. with family present and receiving friends Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Ryan Mortuary.
