Frankie Mae Scott

Frankie Mae Scott, 79, of Galva, Kansas, passed away at 11:30 p.m., Saturday, March 24th, 2018 at Pleasant View Home, Inman, Kansas.

Frankie was born in McPherson, Kansas on September 6, 1938, a daughter of Cladia Mae and Frank Ballweg.

Frankie attended McPherson grade school, McPherson Junior High School and McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas. Later she received her ged in the mid 70’s.

She was a member of Galva Christian Church, Galva, Kansas.

Through the years Frankie was a homemaker and took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. Frankie worked for CertainTeed Corporation, Kit Road Ranger as a group leader, Sterling Drug as a group leader and retired from Hospira, all of McPherson. In her retirement she volunteered for Hospice and helped out with the election and balloting.

Frankie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, camping, skiing, boating, and spending time with friends.

Frankie Mae Ballweg was united in marriage to James Dean Scott on February 3, 1955 at the First Christian Church in McPherson, Kansas. This union was blessed with the birth of four children, a daughter and three sons, Connie, Gregg, and twins Dean and Dale. Following Jame’s discharge from the United States Army the couple lived in McPherson, Lyons, and in 1960 moved to Galva, Kansas.

She is survived by her sons, Gregg Scott, of McPherson, Kansas; Dean Scott, of Galva, Kansas; Dale Scott, of Galva, Kansas; her sister Mary Moyer, and husband Don, of McPherson, Kansas; son-in-law Larry Thiessen, of Galva, Kansas; her 8 grandchildren, Amber Wells, Lindsey Godfrey, Ashley Thompson, Natasha Beard, Brandon Scott (Ellen), Brianna Scott, Tara Scott and Brody Scott; her 8 great-grandchildren – Michaela Jowers, Breya Millison, Emri Thompson, Colin Scott, Noah Siliva, Harper Siliva, Kolt McDonald, Peyton McDonald and one on the way.

Frankie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jim Scott; her daughter, Connie Thiessen; her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Scott; Rose Embers.

A memorial service will be held at the Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 29th, 2018 with Reverend Tripp Edwards officiating.

A private family burial will be held at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas.
