Gary Arthur “Hutch” Hutchison

Gary Arthur “Hutch” Hutchison, 79, of McPherson, KS, passed away at 9:35 p.m., Friday, April 30th, 2021 peacefully, at McPherson Hospital.

Gary was born in Ellsworth, Kansas on August 3, 1941, a son of Velma A. (Leach) and Arthur Alfred Hutchison.

Gary attended the Lincoln grade schools and graduated from Lincoln High School, Lincoln, Kansas in 1959.

He was a member of Grace Bible Church McPherson, Kansas.

Gary was a McPherson Fire Fighter for a number of years before he started with the Kansas Gas Service. He served several positions including Warehouse Manager and retired after 27 years.

He volunteered many hours with the McPherson County Food Bank. Gary loved collecting tools and fishing gear and fishing. His greatest joy was his family especially his grandkids.

Gary A. Hutchison was united in marriage to Louise Kay Buck on June 19, 1960 at United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Kansas where the young couple established their first home together. This union was blessed with the birth of three sons, Mark, Danial “Dan”, and James “Jim”. The family moved to McPherson, Kansas in 1966.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of nearly 61 years, Louise Hutchison, of McPherson, Kansas; his sons, Mark Hutchison, of McPherson, Kansas, Danial “Dan” Hutchison and wife Diana, of Topeka, Kansas, and James “Jim” Hutchison and wife Shannon, of Highlandville, Missouri; his 10 grandchildren, Adam Hutchison and wife Misha, Anna Hicks and husband Russell, Lauren Vernig and husband Tucker, Macy Xhembulla and husband Gerti, Ethan Hutchison, Asa Hutchison, Levi Hutchison, Mendel Hutchison, Eliana Hutchison, and Asher Hutchison; one great-grandson with one on the way due in late May; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Terry and Lary Joe Hutchison.

The memorial service will be held at a later date.

Private family graveside will be held at the Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln, Ks at a later date.
