Gary D. Drummond, 78, passed away Friday morning, Sept. 15, 2023. He was born August 7, 1945, in Salina, KS, to John and Cecil (Plymire) Drummond.
He grew up in Salina, until he moved to Minneapolis as a teenager. He graduated from Minneapolis High School in 1963. He and Mary Cote were united in Marriage on April 15, 1967, at Immaculate Conception Church in Minneapolis.
Gary worked for Graves Truck Line as a manager of the unclaimed freight store. He also worked for ANR Freight System for many years, and then retired from YRC as a truck driver. He and his wife also owned rental properties in Salina for almost 50 years.
Gary was an avid trap shooter, enjoyed 4 wheeling and spending time at the lake with his son. He enjoyed car shows, museums and historical sites. He also like helping out on the family farm during harvest. To him, nobody was a stranger and he always had a friendly smile.
He was preceded I n death by his parents and three siblings, Elbert, Virginia Egbert and John L., II.
His survivors are his wife of 56 years, Mary, of the home; a son, Gary Dean, Jr. and wife, Jill, and two grandchildren, Kyle and Ashley.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday evening, September 21, 2023 at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, September 22, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Salina. Burial will be in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
