George Thomas Sedore, 72, of Salina, Kansas, passed away at 1:50 a.m., Wednesday, October 30th, 2019 at Salina Regional Health Center.
George was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on October 18, 1947, a son of Hazel Evelyn (Greene) and Jack V. Sedore.
George attended graduated from Vestal High School, Vestal, New York in 1966.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt in the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooter M-14.
Through the years George worked a lot of restaurants, a grocery store, did janitorial work, security work and retired from Tony’s Pizza, Salina, Kansas after 17 years. George enjoyed writing and reading, and his grandchildren.
George Thomas Sedore was united in marriage to Elizabeth Annette Myers on March 13, 1971 at Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church, Endicott, New York. The young couple established their first home together in Vestal, New York. This union was blessed with the birth of four children, three daughters and one son, Nannette, Stacy, Jay, and Shauna. In 1990 the family moved to Salina, Kansas.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over forty-eight years, Elizabeth Sedore, of Salina, Kansas; his children, Nannette Sedore, of Elmira, New York, Stacy Brady and husband Matthew, of Hutchinson, Kansas, Jay Sedore, of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Shauna Mendenhall and husband Steven, of Salina, Kansas; his sister, Clair Ernest and husband James, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; his 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Jack Sedore; and his two brothers, Jack and Ralph Sedore.
A Celebration of Life and time of gathering will be at a later date.
