It is with great sadness that Roselawn Mortuary announces the passing of Harmon “Cecil” Grimsley, 94, of Salina, on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Bethany Homes in Lindsborg.
He was born May 3, 1927, and grew up on his dad’s farm in Adel, Georgia.
Cecil was a retired law enforcement officer with 40 combined years of service. He served on the Salina Police Department and as a Deputy for the Saline County Sheriff’s Department. Of which he retired from on June 1, 1982. He was most recently named an Honorary Policeman by the Lindsborg Kansas Police Department. He also served in the Kansas National Guard for many years.
Cecil was loved and respected by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew C. and Cora L. (Friar) Grimsley, his beloved wife of 31 years, Betty A. (McNally) Grimsley, a brother; Braddock Grimsley, and his sisters; Hazel Alice Grimsley Nichols, and Grace Grimsley Mathis, all of Cook County, GA.
Survivors include his sons; Gary Cecil Grimsley of OK., and stepsons; Bobby Wallace Griffiths of Rollins, WY., and Steven Fuller and a step-grandson; Jason Fuller a brother; Andrew C. Grimsley of Cobb, GA, 1 step-grandson; and 3 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2:00pm to 6:00pm, Monday, April 25, 2022, with the family present from 4:00-6:00pm at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 East Crawford, Salina.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm, Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park following the service.
