James G. Blazek, age 79, entered into rest on Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, Kansas. He was born on October 3, 1939 in Republic County, Kansas Joseph and Gayle (Nemec) to Blazek.
He was a 1957 graduate of Hillcrest High School, Cuba, Kansas.
James served in the US States Army National Guard Unit.
On February 20, 1965 he married Marjorie Gieber at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Concordia, Kansas. They were happily married for 53 years.
He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, past member of American Legion, Moose Lodge, and Elks Lodge all of Concordia.
James worked for the Cloud County Highway Department for 38 years before retiring.
He enjoyed hunting, trap shoots, 3-D Bow Shooting, cards, cars and most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is
survived by his wife, Marjorie, Concordia; a daughter, Rhonda Fraser (Casey), Concordia; 2 sons, Jeff Blazek, Concordia; Jared Blazek (Jan), Columbia City, OR.; a sister, Marilyn Levendofsky, Belleville, KS.; 7 grandchildren, Dalton Fraser, Shelby Fraser Gregory (Kyle), Kole Blazek, Brianna Blazek, Mariah Blazek, Hunter Blazek, Madison Blazek, 2 great grandchildren, Addison and Bentley Blazek, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Gayle, brother, Robert Blazek, brother-in-law, George Levendofsky.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2019 with a Rosary Service will being held at 6:00 p.m., all at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Family will receive friends after the Rosary.
Memorial services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2019 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Fr. David Metz officiating.
Burial of the Cremains will follow in the St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas.
