James “Jim” Reid, 74, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. He was born June 5, 1948 in Salina, the son of the late Harold and Felica Reid.
Jim was a lifetime resident of Salina. Throughout his life, Jim was a plumber by trade. In the 1980’s he had his own plumbing business, followed by a 27 year career at Salina Regional Health Center in the maintenance department.
Jim’s happiest moments were living on his five acres of land in Lincoln County. In 2009 Jim fell in love with Linda Hindman and she joined him on the acreage to live out the last 13 wonderful years. Jim’s kind gentle demeanor will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Felicia; brother, Tony; and sister, Ellen Higby.
He is survived by wife, Linda of the home; sons, Dusty and Dylan; daughter, Jenna; step-daughter, Amy Wagner (Cary); step-daughter, Beth Schmidt (Rod); brother, Tom Reid; sister, Sylvia Smock; two granddaughters, four step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. with a funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Ryan Mortuary. Burial will follow at Prairie Mound Cemetery, Ellsworth County, KS.
