James Michael Weis, 61, of Salina, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2020.
He was born February 1, 1959 in Manhattan, KS. He is survived by his wife, Cézanne Weis; daughters, Cassondra Weis and Acacia Weis; his parents, Gary and Katie (Crowther) Weis; brother, Steve Weis (Mary); sister, Jodi Calvert (David); his nephews and nieces Cade Calvert, Taylor Weis, Cole Calvert, Cai Calvert and Kate Weis.
Jim was a loving soul, a proud father, a caring son, brother, and a loyal friend. His passion for the beauty of the outdoors led him to many adventures in fishing, hunting, hiking and climbing.
In pursuit of these experiences, he became a woodworker, a rod and gun builder and a fly tier, which he did with skill and perfection. His love of music and art led him to concert venues and museums throughout the country. He was a graduate and supporter of Kansas State University (EMAW). He was an avid sports fan whose greatest joy came from watching “his girls” on the court, field or track. He read everything and remembered every word. He worked so that he could live!
His kindness to others is what they will remember.
