James Robert “Bob” Freeman, 84, of Salina, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023. He was born November 25, 1938, in Salina, to James R. and Ruby Belle (Nelson) Freeman. He graduated from Salina High School and joined the United States Marine Corp for two years and was stationed in Fallon, Nevada. He owned a family business “Jim’s Truck & Trailer Service,” for and with his father, then later with his son Troy. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapshooting, and hanging out with friends. He enjoyed playing pinball, video games, shooting pool, and playing pitch. Bob lived his life the way he wanted to live it.
He is survived by his children, Debra Brite, of Phoenix, AZ, Craig Brown, of Salina, Tom Brown, of Ellsworth, and Troy Freeman, of Salina; sister, Lois Skelton, Myrtle Beach, SC, Darlene Volk, of Osgood, IN, Cindy Holcomb, Loretta Gossid, both of Skiatook, Oklahoma.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gladys Freeman; and child, Terri Skogeho.
Cremation was chosen and a graveside will be scheduled at a later date in Franklin Cemetery, Tescott.
