Janice Cathleen Smith, 55, of McPherson, KS, passed away at 4:05 p.m., Thursday, July 23rd, suddenly, at her home.
Janice was born in Monterey, California on May 6, 1965, a daughter of John Reed Williams and Judy (Thatch) Williams.
Due to her dad in the military, Janice attended many schools all over the United States, and later got her GED from Emporia High School, Emporia, Kansas. She then received her Nurse’s Aide Certificate from Hutchinson Community College, Hutchinson, Kansas.
Janice was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. Through the years Janice worked at many different places as a cook and a laborer.
Janice was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W. Auxiliary both of McPherson. Janice enjoyed playing pool, listening to music and singing right along, and spending time at the lake with family and friends. She loved her grandkids and always looked forward to their visits.
Janice Cathleen Williams was united in marriage John Smith. This union was blessed with the birth of two sons, Bryan and Jason. Janice was blessed with love from Ray Anderson all heart and soul.
She is survived by the love of her life off and on of about 20 years, Ray Anderson, McPherson; her children, Bryon Smith and his wife Jamie Smith, of Wichita, Kansas, Jason Smith and wife Kathleen, of McPherson, Kansas, Rachel Crothers, of Raymond, Kansas, Lindsey Anderson and significant other Nick Alexander, of Kansas City, Kansas, and Aaron Anderson, of McPherson, Kansas; her father, John Williams of Monterey, California; her brothers, Brad Williams, of Chicago, Illinois and Bryan Williams, of Atlanta, Georgia her 15 grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Janice was preceded in death by her mom, Judy Williams and her first husband John Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
