Jayme L. Scofield, the son of Elwin F. and Ellen J. (Levendofsky) Scofield, was born February 6, 1961, in Belleville, Kansas and passed away November 14, 2024 in Salina, Kansas, at the age of 63 years.
Jayme grew up on a farm north of Belleville. He attended school in Belleville and graduated from Belleville High School. During his school years, Jayme was active in sports, especially loving basketball and tennis, which he continued playing in adulthood. Jayme graduated from Emporia State University. He worked a little in the accounting field, but mostly worked as an independent contract driver, covering the United States. He shared many interesting travel stories with family.
Jayme was “dad” to Foreign Exchange Students from several countries.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Charlotte Burton; niece Amber Burton; and three infant nephews, Bradley Boman, Darrel Chatfield, and Darrin Chatfield.
Jayme is survived by four sisters, Carolyn Conwell, of Salina, Sandra (Gary) Boman, of Belleville, JoAnn (Ken) Gurley, of Silver Springs, Nevada, LeAnn (Tim) Sankey, of Salina; one brother, Gary (Lori) Scofield, of Belleville; his significant other, Doreen Tombaugh, of Salina; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Belleville Cemetery.
