JoAnn McCabe, 79, of Salina, passed away Aug. 1, 2018. She was born Aug. 9, 1938, in Hays, to Andrew and Josephine (Brungardt) Hertel. JoAnn was a resident of Salina for most of her life. She was a graduate of the Brown Mackie School of Business and worked as a secretary for several firms in Salina before becoming a homemaker after her marriage.

She is survived by: her brother, Robert G. “Bob” Hertel; nephew, Richard Hertel (Karen); nieces, Marguerite Munroe (William), and Nancy Nowakowski (Mark); and special friends, Sharon and Paul Hemmy.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; and husband, Gerald “Ed” McCabe.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, with family present from 5-7.

A graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, 3701 E. Crawford St, Salina.
