John Edward Patterson, 71, born May 27, 1952, passed away suddenly, on June 1st, 2023, at home in Lindsborg, KS.

John was born in Omaha, NE, to William and Audrey Jean Patterson. Soon after this, the family moved to Jefferson, IA, where he attended elementary school. After elementary school the family moved to Des Moines, IA, and he attended Abraham Lincoln High School. He then went to Drury University for college and majored in English Literature, also while attending there, he became nationally ranked as a diver, on the swim team. He then transferred to the University of Iowa and continued his college education, in Broadcast Journalism.

After meeting his future wife while at The University of Iowa, they were married on January 7th, 1978, then settled in Lindsborg, KS, and together had three children, John, Emily, and Michael.

He is survived by wife, Paula; son, John (Angela); daughter, Emily; four very loved granddaughters, Katie, Ella, Madeline, and Beatrice; sisters, Carol, Beth; brothers, Michael, Roy (Darla), Don (Rose), Jack (Jim); sister in-laws, Cathy, Noel; brother in-laws, Tom, Eric; son in-law, Josh; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was proceeded in death by a son, Michael; sister, Kathi; brother in-law, Gary; sister, Kathy; father in-law, Hilding (Esther); sister, Chris; father, William (Penny); and mother, Audrey (Jim).

A celebration of life will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church on July 6th from 2-4 pm. A private family burial took place at The Prairie Heartland cemetery.
