Johnnie L. Mosher, age 100, left this earthly life on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at his family farm near Concordia, Kansas. He was born on Dec. 5, 1918, Sedan, Kansas to William and Lula (Winegar) Mosher.
Johnnie served in the US Navy during WWII from 1944-1945 in the Pacific Theater.
He married June L. Swihart in 1939 in Mankato, Kansas. June preceded him in death on August 13, 2002.
Johnnie worked at the Lenora Elevator and later owned and operated the Hollis Elevator. He was a longtime area resident and farmer in Cloud County community.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #588 and American Legion Post #76 of Concordia.
Johnnie truly enjoyed farming, noodling, gardening, deer hunting, watching turkeys, and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren.
He is survived by his sons, Michael Mosher (Barbara), Concordia, KS.; Lynn Mosher (Patty), Concordia, KS.; daughter, Janice Beneda (Gary), Sunrise Beach, MO; a brother, Gene Mosher (JoAnn), Russell, KS.; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June; sons, Larry and Gary Mosher, his parents, William and Lula, brothers, Albert and Billy Mosher, sisters, Blossom Augustine, Ruth Racette, and Letha Wilson.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor Earl Hale officiating.
Burial will follow at the Hollis Cemetery, Hollis, Kansas. Military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post #588 and American Legion Post #76.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 19, 2019 from 1-8 pm, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 pm all at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.
