Joy Ann Gawith, 79, of Salina, passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018. She was born Oct. 15, 1938, in Clay Center, to Perry A. and Marie C. (Edmonds) Dunlap. She married Alfred James Gawith Jr., Sept. 2, 1956, in Salina. They were happily married for 61 years.
Joy was a lifetime resident of Salina. She was a longtime bookkeeper for the family business, Salina Auto Parts. She was an active member at First United Methodist Church, enjoyed playing bridge, organizing Salina High Class of 1956 reunions, and was an avid college basketball and Royals fan. Joy’s greatest love was her family.
Survivors include her daughters: Tanya and husband, Mike Clynch, of Ladera Ranch, Calif.; Catherine and husband, Danny Rider, of New Cambria, and Rhonda Lambert, of Salina; siblings: Larry and wife, Cathy Dunlap, Donna and husband, Steve Poort, and Evans and wife, Jackie Dunlap; grandchildren: Callie and husband, David Castillo, Lyssa and husband, Dean Rollolazo, Andrew and wife, Stacy Lambert, Alyse Lambert, Eli Rider, and Jenna Rider; great-grandchildren: Caidan Castillo, Braxton, Ryland, and Camden Rollolazo, Andrew Lambert II, and Davin Lambert-Cathey.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; and husband, Al.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m.,Wednesday, Jan. 10 with family present from 6-8 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary.
Celebration of life service will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 122 N 8th St, Salina.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: First United Methodist Church, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Ashby House, in care of Ryan Mortuary.
