Joyce K. Blouch was born on September 11, 1935 in Sellarsville, PA and passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Pinnacle Park Nursing Home. She spent her childhood in Tylersport, PA with her birth mother, Margaret King. Joyce went to Luther League in Philadelphia, and while there, she met her foster parents, Herman and Frances Wertz. She went to nursing school in 1954 and graduated as a registered nurse in 1957 at Germantown Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She married Leigh Lengle Blouch in 1958 in Philadelphia. They had four children: Deborah Ann Teel, Salina; David Leigh Blouch (Linda), Salina; Dianne Francis Blouch, Salina; and Daniel Gideon Blouch (Kathi), Salina. She has one living foster sister, Roberta Ludwig, Willow Grove, PA. She has 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother, parents, her husband, her son in law, Jim Teel (2003) and two foster sisters, Francis Peterson and Alice Bellefleur.

She worked as a director of nursing for 43 years; first, at White Cross and Crestview Nursing Homes near Bennington in 1966; director of nursing at Oakdale Park/Windsor Estates, Salina and director of nursing at McCall Manor, Salina. She was a member of the Salina Vo-Tech Nursing Board and other nursing committees in Kansas. She retired in 2009. Her health declined in 2012 and she went to Pinnacle Park Nursing Home for physical therapy and strengthening, living there for 10 years.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, July 16, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Salina. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022.
