Kathleen O. Baldwin, 98, of Salina Kansas, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, with family by her side after a recent decline in her health. She was born on May 20, 1925, in Jewell, Kansas to Roy D. and Olive O. (Crites) Mowers.
On May 6, 1945, she married William F. Baldwin at the First Christian Church in Jewell, Kansas. They were married for over 70 years and made their home in Salina since the 1950s. Along with William, she helped to operate the family’s Baldwin Brothers Furniture Store in downtown Salina. Kathleen was passionate at working with the public as she was also a successful Avon representative for over 24 years.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Epsilon Sigma Alpha national fraternity. During World War II, she did her part in the women’s war effort and worked for an ammunition plant here in Kansas.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Mueller (Don), two grandchildren, Matthew Mueller (Kathleen) and Ashley Mueller, and two great grandchildren, Maverik Mueller and William Mueller, all of Southern California.
She is preceded in death by her husband William, son Alan, and sister Maurine Loades.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17 at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held the following day at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 18 at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. A graveside service will follow the funeral service at Wallace Cemetery, Jewell, Kansas.
The family suggests memorials to the Good Samaritan Fund of the Salina Presbyterian Manor, in care of Ryan Mortuary.
