Kenneth Leroy Schnitker,87, passed away on November 13, 2022 at Salina Regional Health Center with his loving wife at his side.
Ken was born September 22, 1935 in Holcomb, Kansas to Paul William Schnitker and Nellie M. (Bender) Schnitker. After growing up in Western Kansas he resided in Lewis, Kansas.
He married Janie Schnitker October 17, 1987 in Offerle, Kansas. They then moved to Assaria followed by Salina; where they resided.
Ken had many careers from bodywork on cars to working for Wilbert Vault in Salina. He also worked in maintenance at Offerle School, Kansas Wesleyan and McCall Manor Retirement Center in Salina. He loved doing anything for the residents.
Ken loved his dogs Foxy and Toby. Foxy has passed on but Toby has been his constant companion for the last 17 years. He loved being around family, grandkids, and great grandkids. They always brought a smile to his face. Camping as well as riding in or driving his 69 Chevelle brought him much happiness and peace.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Janie; sons, Kevin and Art (Tracy); stepson, Rocky; daughter, Laura (Joel); stepdaughter, Angel (Kevin); 10 grandkids, 12 great grandkids; brother, Ray and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with funeral services following at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Ryan Mortuary. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, New Cambria.
