Larry E. Stoker

Funeral services for Larry E. Stoker, age 81, of Corpus Christi, Texas, formerly of Abilene, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home in Abilene with Reverend Justin Panzer officiating. Mr. Stoker passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Bay Area Hospital in Corpus Christi.

He was born July 19, 1937 in Abilene, the son of Charles R. and Iva (Dawson) Stoker. Larry graduated from Abilene High School and attended Wichita State University before serving his country in the United State Army. Larry served for twenty-three years doing two tours in the Korean War and two tours in the Vietnam War before retiring.

Larry enjoyed riding his motorcycle, practicing karate, playing table tennis, and spending time with his dog, Kimpo.

On December 10, 1974 he married Eua Ja “Ogie” Kim in Seoul, South Korea. She survives of the home in Abilene. Other survivors include his daughter Joann D’Andrea of Quincy, MA; sons Gary Stoker and his fiancé Sylvia of Corpus Christi, TX, Larry Stoker, Jr and his wife Melissa of Corpus Christi, TX , Jae Stoker and his wife Leslie of Beaumont, TX; brothers Jerome, Roger, Steven and sister Brenda; 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Iva Stoker-Collins, Charles Robert Stoker, stepfather Gordon Collins; brothers Charles and Dennis Stoker and son Bryan.

Larry’s final resting place will be in the Abilene Cemetery with military honors provided by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard. Friends may sign the register book until service time at the funeral home.
