LaVonne Woody passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, in her home surrounded by family. She was born in Beverly on September 14, 1931, the daughter of Fred and Louise Webb. She married John Woody of Beverly and moved to Salina, where they spent their entire 63 years of married life before he passed in 2011. She was a longtime member of the local Jehovah’s Witnesses in Salina. She was known for her kindness and generosity and had been “Grandma Woody” to many generations of children in her congregation.
LaVonne was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lou Walter and brother, Dick Webb. LaVonne is survived by her son, Harry and his wife, Carol, both of Salina, as well as her daughter, Cathy Bryant of Edmond, OK. She leaves behind eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be forthcoming from the family. A private family inurnment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park with a gathering to celebrate her life later this year in Lincoln County. All cards should be directed to Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth Street, Salina, KS 67401.
