Leola L. Batterman

Leola L. Batterman, 93, passed away at her home Monday, October 31, 2022.  She was born on the farm near Plymouth, Nebraska on March 9, 1929 to Herman and Louise (Hueske) Diekmann.

Leola graduated from Wymore Nebraska High School and worked as a nurse in Beatrice, Nebraska.  On February 17, 1957 she married Richard Batterman.  Together they ran Batterman Construction where she was a bookkeeper.

After her children were born she was a devoted homemaker and exceptional mother, grandmother, friend, Christian, and cook.  Leola enjoyed reading, sewing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Salina and her faith was an important part of her life.

Leola was preceded by her husband, Richard Batterman; grandson, Shane Batterman; great-granddaughter, Addison Lambert; six brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her children, Wade Batterman and fiancée Jodi of Newton, Craig (Susan) Batterman of Salina, Beth Meisenheimer of Salina, Brent (Marissa) Batterman of Lihue, Hawaii; special daughter-in-law, Bobbie Batterman and son-in-law, Dick; sister-in-law, Kathy Batterman; longtime friend, Alberta Klanke; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday November 7, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Boxman officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or The Lutheran Hour.
