Linda Kay Herr, 71, of McPherson, Kansas passed away Friday, October 9th, 2020 peacefully, at McPherson Health And Rehab.
Linda was born in Chanute, Kansas on June 30, 1949, a daughter of John Baker and Wanda (Nickelson) Baker-Achilles.
Linda attended schools in Arkansas City, Kansas.
She was a member of New Life Foursquare Gospel Church and was a former member of Cherry Street Church of God in McPherson.
Linda was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. Through the years she worked for Femco where she was a supervisor and owned and operated her own cleaning business.
Linda was a member of Faith In Action music group, which consisted of Linda, her sisters, Patricia, Carol and her niece Jenny.
Linda enjoyed inspirational Christian music, watching movies, shopping and spending time with her family.
Linda Kay Baker was united in marriage to James Curtis Herr on June 11, 1976 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. The couple established their first home together in Arkansas City, Kansas. This union was blessed with the birth of a son Jeremy. Linda was blessed with the birth of a son Steve from a previous marriage. James died on July 1, 2020
She is survived by her children, Jeremy Herr and his wife Kristi, of Salina, Kansas and Steve Goatley and his wife Wendy, of Galax,Virginia; her siblings, Carol Goering and her husband Larry, of Moundridge, Kansas and Suzie Howell and her husband David, of Whitewater, Kansas.
She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Zane Herr, Elise Herr, Natalie Herr, Allison Harrell (Jared ), Molly Preciado (Juan) and a great-grandson, Harris Harrell
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Achilles; her sister, Patricia Goatley; her brothers, Darrel Baker and Jeff Baker.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Glidden – Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas, with Pastor Andrea Baker officiating.
Burial will be held at Crestwood Memorial Park Cemetery McPherson, Kansas.
