Louetta Marie (George) Albers

Louetta Marie (George) Albers, 86, was greeted at the gates of Heaven by her husband LeRoy, grandson, Blaine Smith, parents, Alva and Verna George along with her brother, Bob George on November 8th, 2023. Louetta was born April 11th, 1937, to Alva and Verna (Schroeder) George in Grinnell, Ks. where she attended school and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1955. She married LeRoy Albers on August 11,1956, in Grinnell, Ks. They had 5 children.

Survivors include: children; Roy Lee Albers (Robin) of Smolan, Ks, Kathy Miller (Charles), Patti Heier (Ron), Jeff Albers (Shelley), Kristi Munoz (John), all of Salina, Ks; 22 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren: siblings; Gerrie George, sister-in-law, Janice Racette (Wilbur), Lois Sigg (Gil), Danny George (Karla), Bill George (Brenda) and loving cousins, nieces, nephews and family friends.

Louetta had several careers she enjoyed through the years from homemaker, running restaurants with her husband, Avon, Home Interiors, secretarial work at Otasco, and retiring from banking at Great Plains Federal Credit Union to enjoy time taking care of several of her grandkids and great grandkids.

Louetta was quite crafty and creative making wedding flowers for her kids and several of her grandkids including corsages and boutonnieres for homecoming and prom dates as well. When she wasn’t twisting plastic flowers, she was outside planting real flowers in her garden. She was also known as the “Banana Bread Queen”, always making enough to make sure there was plenty for her big family to take home!

A visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 pm Friday, November 10 with a Vigil and Rosary Service at 6:00 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Saturday,

November 11, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Tammy Walker Cancer Center, Sacred Heart Cathedral or St. Mary’s Catholic Church. For more information or to leave condolences go to www.ryanmortuary.com
