Louis M. Reynolds, 90, died peacefully in his home on September 4, 2018. He was born October 15, 1927, in Salina, to F.L. and Eva Reynolds.
Louis graduated from Salina High School in 1946 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948. After graduating from Ottawa University in 1952, he taught in schools in Humboldt and Chanute. After earning a graduate degree from Kansas State, he became an elementary school principal in the communities of Cherryvale, Arkansas City and Salina. He retired from USD 305, Salina, in 1988.
Louis was a long-time member of Salina First Baptist Church, where he held various offices and taught Sunday School at the high school level for several years.
Louis was preceded in death by Celeste, his wife of 62 years, and his parents, brother Howard and sister Kay, and their spouses Bernetta and Sam Johnson.
Survivors include one son, Tracy Reynolds (Diana) of Durango, CO, a daughter, Shannon Spangler (Mike) of Kansas City, and four grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held in the Sterling Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund at Salina Presbyterian Manor.
There is no visitation planned. Ryan Mortuary Salina is handling arrangements.
