Luetta B. Harrell, 93, passed away April 1, 2023 while under hospice care at Presbyterian Manor. Luetta was born May 15, 1929, in Ellis, Kansas, the seventh of ten children belonging to Walter and Eva (Sauer) Haneke. Luetta graduated from Ellis High School in 1946 and went on to marry George Harrell of Barnard, Kansas on February 22nd, 1948. They were married fifty-one years and spent most of their married lives in Salina. Luetta began her career as a receptionist at Waddell & Reed and worked her way up to Financial Advisor where she helped a multitude of people manage their finances for over thirty years.
Luetta was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and was active in the Ladies Elks Club of Salina. As a first generation American, she enjoyed cooking Austrian recipes her mother, Eva, brought with her when she immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island.
Luetta was preceded in death by her husband, George Harrell in 1999; three sisters, and four brothers. She is survived by her daughter Joleen Stein (Steve) of Gypsum; grandchildren, Melynda McCabe (Chris) and Thomas Stein (Elane); great-grandchildren, Jack, Jace, Addie, Ellyanna; granddaughters, Bailey Harrell, Madison Harrell; son Mike Harrell; and siblings Donna Henderson and Don Haneke.
