Maria Ven Thi Pham, 95, of Salina, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 26th, 2020. She was born in Vietnam and came to the United States in 1975. She lived in Caney, KS until 1978 when she moved to Salina.
Ven worked at Tony’s Pizza for 20 years. Ven was hardworking and dedicated to her job. During her time there, Ven had perfect attendance and didn’t miss a single day of work.
Ven was a very devout Catholic woman. Her faith and relationship with God was of utmost importance to her. Ven was a parishioner at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. She also helped to organize Mass every other month for the Vietnamese community. When Ven wasn’t at church, you would often find her praying in her home.
Despite her small demeanor, Ven had a large heart. Ven was thoughtful, loving, and caring to everyone she met. Many of those she met also considered her to be like their own family. In her spare time, Ven enjoyed cooking, gardening, going on walks, and spending time with her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially liked to cook on the weekends for family and friends to gather in her home.
Ven is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Giuse Kheo Pham.
Survivors include five children: son, Da Pham and family; daughter, Lan Pham and family; daughter, Hue Tran and family; daughter, Laura Cuc and family; and son, Minh Pham and family. She is also survived by 4 nephews, 16 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Ryan Mortuary Thursday, January 30th and Friday, January 31st. There will be a rosary and vigil Mass on Friday at 5:00 pm at the Ryan Mortuary.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, Saturday, February 1st 2020 at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. John Tran, CRM officiating. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina.
