Marian Simpson Small, 100, of salina passed away Saturday January 27, 2018. She was born July 8th, 1917. On June 1st, 1935 she married cattleman, Preston Simpson. They had two children Maralee and Dale. Preston died in 1965. In 1971 Marian married Orison Small, Holyrood, KS, Mr. Small died in 2001. Marian lived in Holyrood until returning to Salina in 2012.
Marian is survived by son Dale (Darla) of Salina, grandson Jame (Christina) Simpson, great grandchildren Josie, Caylie, Sadie and Wade Simpson, grandson Jarod (Briana) Simpson and great granddaughter Reagan Simpson all of Salina.
Daughter Maralee (Jim) Whitehead, grandson Doug (Pam) Whitehead all of Natchez, MS. Granddaughter Denise (Daniel) Boyd, great grandsons Hunter and Andrew Boyd of Vidalia, LA.
Stepson Bobby (Rose) Small of Lyons, KS. And step daughter Marilyn Meyer, Arizona, 5 step grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren.
Marian lived a long good life, she was an active church member, a preschool teacher and accomplished painter/artist. She and Orison loved camping with their camping club and spending their winters in Texas.
There is no designated memorial. Marian loved church and loved the lord, if someone is interested in giving a memorial she would be happy if it was given to the church of your choice.
No funeral is planned. Marian will be laid to rest January 31, 2018 at Roselawn cemetery, Salina. There will be a wonderful celebration of life at a later date.
