Marjorie A. Plattner, 77, of Salina, Kan., passed away peacefully into her eternal home on Friday, April 9, 2021. She was the first-born daughter to Milton and Jeanne (Thelander) Plattner. Marge graduated from Salina High School in 1961. She attained a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s Degree in Education. Marge was united in marriage to Jim Plattner on April 18, 1976.
Marge was a devoted and faithful follower of Christ. Besides her devotion to her family, she also enjoyed sewing, jig saw puzzles, and traveling.
Left to mourn her passing is husband, Jim, of 45 years; son, Evan (Amber) of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Jenna Krehbiel (Josh) of Salina; sisters, Virginia Mars (David) of Sabetha, Kan., Barbara Pinkham (Al) of Washington, N.C.; and the apples of her eye, grandchildren, Clara, Naomi, Sydnie, Elias, and Easton. She leaves many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be at Ryan Mortuary on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. Family will be there to receive guests from 6-8 p.m. Celebration of life services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at First Covenant Church, with Reverend Doug McHenry officiating. Luncheon to follow. Interment will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or First Covenant Church, in care of the mortuary.
