Mark Edward Smith of Salina, Kansas, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Salina Regional Health Center. He was born July 19, 1955, in Frankfort, Germany, the son of Edward Joseph and Justine (Mulhearn) Smith.
Mark graduated from Salina South High School with the class of 1973.
Early in his career, Mark worked at Beech Aircraft in Salina for over ten years. He then started as an apprentice with Bob Giles Plumbing. He eventually bought this business, and it became Mark Smith Plumbing, Inc. in 2000. With his partner and wife, they built this business together over the past 23 years.
Mark was united in marriage in 1996 to his forever partner, Linda Baldwin, in Salina, Kansas. She survives of the home.
Mark was an enthusiastic Dallas Cowboys football fan and loved to spend time with family and friends.
Other survivors include his children, Mallory Smith Humphrey of Salina, stepdaughter, Autumn Burfict (Joseph) of Manhattan, Kansas; three grandchildren, Patrick Hubbard, Ava Lopez, Nicholas Burfict; four siblings, Karen Coogan of Derby, Kansas, Christopher Smith (Tammy) of Wichita, Kansas, Janet Shirk (Bill) of Salina, Brian Smith of Minneapolis, Kansas; “adopted” brother, Joseph Krause (Janice) of Bennington, Kansas; seven nephews and two nieces.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina on Tuesday, January 31st, from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm with family receiving friends from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm. A Private family graveside service will be held at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mark’s name to the donor’s choice.
