Marlan Carroll Comfort, 82, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, October 11th, 2023.
Marlan was born in Miltonvale, Kansas on October 15, 1940, a son of Florence Elizabeth (Simpson) and Carroll Dale Comfort.
He retired from the City of Miltonvale as the City Superintendent where he worked to support his farming habit. Farming and driving John Deere Tractors was the joy of his life.
On August 22, 2008, Marlan married Glendah Huff in Independence, Kansas.
Survivors include his wife, Glendah, of the home; and two daughters, Marla Hurst (Todd), of Salina, Kansas, and Cheryl Brewer (Matthew), of Independence, Kansas.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Kinneth (Josie), Zane (Rachel), Tyrel (Denae), Victoria (Elijah), Rusty (Dafne), Cory (Blanca), Molly, Zane (Megan), Zeke (Charity), Chase; 10 great grandchildren. Through his second marriage, he gained, 2 daughters, Robin Capps (Blake), of Hobe Sound, Florida, Rhoda Line (Bryan), of Kokomo, Indiana; sons, Randy Huff (Jane), of North Pole, Alaska, Rick Huff (Mary Ellen) of Hobe Sound, Florida, Robb Huff (Robyn), of Hobe Sound, Florida, Ron Huff, of Lawrence, Kansas; 16 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Marlan is also survived by a sister, Eileen Mitchem (Stephen), of Sioux City, Iowa and brother, Myron Comfort, of Marshfield, Missouri.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife and mother of his children, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Comfort.
Family will receive friends from 9:00 am – 10:00 am, Saturday, October 14th, at Living Hope Bible Methodist Church in Salina, and the funeral will follow at 10:00 am, with Pastor Todd Hurst officiating.
Burial will be at 12:00 pm, Saturday, October 14th, at Miltonvale Cemetery in Miltonvale.
