Marvin L. Walton, 80, of Salina, Kan., passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022. He was born on December 1, 1941, in Lamont, Okla., to Richard and Grace (Bestwick) Walton.
Marvin went to Culinary School and loved to cook. For many years he worked for the City of Salina in the custodial department covering the Salina Police Department and Community Theatre, and also the United Methodist Church of the Cross. Marvin liked to go camping and fishing with his family and being outside taking care of his yard.
Survivors include his children, Shari Jackson, Vickie Jackson, and Mike Jackson, all of Salina, Vanda Neely, of Okla., and Dale Walton Sr., of La.; grandkids, Allysa, Cierra, Trevor, Chelsey, Kiersten, and many more; great-grandkids, Kayden, Emma, Kyzer, Kysen, Kamdyn, Aubrey, Mila, Berklie, Jenna, Astrid, and many more; sister, Joan Keene; numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog, Juniper.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Walton; parents, Richard and Grace; step-father, Floyd Bestwick; son, Marvin Walton Jr.; daughters, Rita Johnson and Kim Rogers; great-grandson, Ezekiel Villefranc; sister, Patricia Walton; brother-in-law, Tom Keene; and nephew, Dale Walton Jr.
A memorial service celebrating the lives of both Marvin and Sharon Walton will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
