Mary Christine Henderson, 66, formerly of Ellis, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020 at her home in Salina, Kan. She was born December 20, 1953 in Hays to Francis A. and Armella (Braun) Wiesner of Ellis. Mary graduated from Marian High School in 1971.
Mary started working as a waitress at the family’s restaurant, City Café, in Ellis. She then worked at the Wakeeney Hospital before moving to Salina, where she returned to waitressing at the Red Coach Inn. Mary then worked in private home care, and her last, most favorite job of all was taking care of her grandkids, which she loved most of all. Mary was very devoted to her family; her grandkids were her greatest accomplishment.
She is survived by: her siblings, Joyce Wiesner of Topeka, Barbara Schuster (LaVerne) of Russell, Leon Wiesner (Rhonda) of Evans, Colo., Janet Wahrman (Alan) of Hays; 9 grandchildren, J.C., Mason and Jenna Henderson of Salina, Dani and Emily Henderson of Waynesboro, Miss., Hunter and Alexis Rogers, Aiden Stokes and Kaylie Hickman of Salina; nieces, Starla Hickman (AJ) of Salina, Amanda Schuster of Colo., Stephanie Wiesner, Katie Upchurch, and Kelly Frank of Colo.; and nephews, Chad Schuster of Great Bend, Brad Schuster of Salina, and Scott Henry of Garden City.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, Armella Wiesner, Mar. 25, 2015; father, Francis A. Wiesner, Aug. 13, 1974; sister, Michelle Marie Wiesner, Feb. 26, 1986; and two brothers Steven F. Wiesner, Dec. 21, 2008, and Kenneth F. Wiesner, Sept. 23, 2010.
Funeral Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2020 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina, with burial following at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ellis.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 29, from 4-8 p.m., with a rosary at 7, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St, Salina, Kan., 67401.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, The Arthritis Foundation, or the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ellis, all in care of Ryan Mortuary.
